Author Guidelines
Welcome to the RevisX author submission portal. These guidelines will help you prepare and submit your manuscript for consideration. Please read through all sections carefully before submitting your work.
Before You Submit
Before submitting your manuscript, please confirm the following:
- Scope alignment: Your work fits within the journal's aims and scope. Review our scope to confirm RevisX is the right journal for your research.
- Authorship criteria: All listed authors meet the ICMJE authorship standards (substantial contributions to conception/design, data acquisition/analysis, drafting/revising the work, final approval, and accountability).
- Originality: The manuscript has not been published elsewhere and is not currently under consideration by another journal.
Ethical Requirements
RevisX adheres to strict ethical standards for all published research. For comprehensive details, please review our Editorial Policies.
Human Subjects Research
Studies involving human participants must have approval from an appropriate institutional review board (IRB) or ethics committee. Authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained from all participants and that patient confidentiality has been protected. For case reports, written informed consent for publication must be obtained from patients or their legal guardians.
Animal Studies
Research involving animals must comply with institutional and national guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals. Authors should provide details of the ethical approval and describe measures taken to minimize animal suffering.
Clinical Trials
Clinical trials must be registered in a publicly accessible database (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov) before patient enrollment begins. The trial registration number should be included at the end of the abstract.
Manuscript Preparation
File Format and Language
Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). All submissions must be written in clear, grammatically correct English. Authors for whom English is not their first language may wish to have their manuscript professionally edited before submission.
Formatting
Use the following formatting throughout your manuscript:
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Line spacing: Double-spaced throughout
- Margins: 2.5 cm (1 inch) on all sides
- Page numbering: Number all pages consecutively
- Line numbering: Enable continuous line numbering (aids peer review)
Title Page
The title page should include:
- Article title (concise and informative, avoid abbreviations)
- Full names and affiliations of all authors
- Corresponding author's contact information (email, phone, postal address)
- Word count (excluding abstract, references, and figure legends)
- Number of figures and tables
Abstract
Original Research Articles: Use a structured abstract (250-300 words) with the following headings: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Review Articles: Provide an unstructured abstract (200-250 words) summarizing the main themes and conclusions.
Case Reports: Use a structured abstract with headings: Introduction, Case Presentation, and Conclusion (150-200 words).
Keywords
Provide 4-6 keywords below the abstract. Use terms from the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) database where possible to improve discoverability.
Main Body Structure
Original Research Articles should follow the IMRaD format:
- Introduction: State the research question and objectives clearly
- Methods: Describe the study design, participants, procedures, and statistical analyses in sufficient detail to allow replication
- Results: Present findings logically, using tables and figures to support the text
- Discussion: Interpret the results, acknowledge limitations, and suggest future directions
Review Articles should include an Introduction, thematic sections organized by subtopic, and a Conclusion.
Case Reports should include: Introduction, Case Presentation (including patient history, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and outcome), Discussion, and Conclusion.
For additional content types, please refer to our Content Types page.
Figures and Tables
Figures and tables should be cited in the text in numerical order and should be self-explanatory:
- Figures: Submit as separate high-resolution files (minimum 300 dpi, TIFF, JPEG, or PNG format). Include concise captions below each figure.
- Tables: Create using Word's table function (not as images). Number consecutively and provide a descriptive title above each table.
- Ensure all abbreviations used in figures and tables are defined in the caption or footnote.
Supplementary Materials
Authors may submit supplementary materials (e.g., datasets, extended methods, additional figures) that will be published online alongside the article. Ensure supplementary files are clearly labeled and cited in the main manuscript.
Referencing
RevisX uses APA 7th edition style for all references. Cite references in the text by author and year (e.g., Smith, 2023 or Smith & Jones, 2023). List all references alphabetically at the end of the manuscript.

Peer Review Process
RevisX employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published research. Here's what to expect:
Review Stages
- Editorial screening (3-5 days): The Editor-in-Chief or a Senior Editor assesses whether the manuscript fits the journal's scope and meets basic quality standards.
- Peer review (4-6 weeks): If the manuscript passes initial screening, it is sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.
- Editorial decision (1-2 weeks after reviews received): The editor evaluates reviewer comments and makes a decision.
Possible Outcomes
- Accept: The manuscript is accepted without further changes.
- Minor revision: Small changes are required; typically reviewed by the editor only.
- Major revision: Substantial revisions needed; manuscript returns to reviewers after revision.
- Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in RevisX.
Authors will receive detailed reviewer comments along with the editorial decision. Transparency and constructive feedback are central to our review process.
Article Processing Charges (APCs)
RevisX operates as an open-access journal, ensuring that published research is freely available to readers worldwide. To support this model, we charge article processing fees for accepted manuscripts.
Fee Structure
- Standard APC: $65 USD
- Fees are charged only after manuscript acceptance, not at submission.
Waivers and Discounts
RevisX offers APC waivers or discounts on a case-by-case basis for authors from low-income countries or those facing genuine financial hardship. To request a waiver, please submit a brief statement explaining your circumstances in your cover letter at the time of submission. All waiver requests are reviewed confidentially by the editorial board.
After Acceptance
Once your manuscript is accepted, the following steps will occur:
Proof Review
Authors will receive a typeset proof of the article for review. At this stage, only minor corrections (e.g., typos, formatting errors) are permitted. Substantial changes to content cannot be accommodated during proofing. Authors typically have 72-96 hours to return corrected proofs.
Publication Timeline
After proof approval and APC payment, articles are published online within 2-3 weeks.
Open Access License
All articles published in RevisX are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided proper attribution is given.
Policies
RevisX is committed to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity and ethical publishing. For comprehensive policy details, please review our Editorial Policies page. Key policies include:
Plagiarism and Originality
All submissions are screened for plagiarism using detection software. Manuscripts with substantial overlap with published work (including author's own previous publications) will be rejected. Proper citation of all sources is mandatory.
Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could be perceived as influencing their research. If no conflicts exist, this should be explicitly stated in the manuscript.
Data Availability
Authors are encouraged to make the data underlying their research publicly available in an appropriate repository. Data availability statements should be included in the manuscript, specifying where and how data can be accessed.
Corrections and Retractions
If significant errors are identified post-publication, the journal will issue corrections, errata, or, in cases of serious misconduct or fundamental flaws, retractions in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Use of AI in Manuscript Preparation
Authors may use AI tools for language editing, grammar checking, or literature searching. However, AI cannot be listed as an author, and any use of AI in manuscript preparation must be disclosed in the methods or acknowledgments section. Authors remain fully responsible for the content and accuracy of their work.
